It is an Australian Government requirement for overseas students and their dependants to maintain self-funded medical and hospital cover for the duration of their study in Australia. There are several companies that provide health cover.

2009 Overseas Health Cover (OSHC) cost:
For single applicants the cost of OSHC is $380 for 1 year, $722 for 2 years and $1,077 for 3 years.
There will be additional costs for family membership such as $760 for 1 year and $1444 for 2 years and $2,154 for 3 years.

These prices are to be used as a guide only. You must pay the appropriate premium to USQ SEC before leaving your home country.
